“Shut the front door!” comes out of my mouth quite often when I am in disbelief. Therefore, I thought it would be the perfect way to describe these amazing looking doors full of color and personality.

In both fashion and in interior design, fall tends to introduce the cooling months with layered fabrics and accessories, bold patterns, and rich, saturated colors. Earlier this month, we mentioned how Native American patterns have exploded this year, with designers like Proenza Schouler and Missoni featuring designs on the runway, and how it has made its way into home decor. Let’s take a look at what is trending for the home this fall that parallels fashion trends for the season.
Texture, texture, texture!
Mix up the textures in a space to create focal points, allowing the eye to travel across the room and take in all its wonderful elements.
Layered elements.
The runway displayed various forms of mixed media: Feathers with leather; wearable plastics with satin. At home, this same concept can be done by mixing woods, metals, and glass, creating a soothing atmosphere without looking sterile.
Colors inspired by nature.
Pantones for fall include subtle olive tones, vibrant oranges, and soft neutrals.
