Genesis Women’s Shelter is passionate about stopping domestic violence. One in four women will experience domestic violence in their lifetime and every 12 seconds a woman is beaten in this country. Genesis is committed to ending this cycle of violence and is proud to offer all of their services in English and Spanish with no cost and no strings attached.
Genesis Women’s Shelter was established in 1985 as a safe haven for battered women and their children. Twenty-four hours every day of the year they answer phones and open their doors to the countless courageous women and their children who seek safety and shelter from the terror in their own homes. They offer support and services extending beyond shelter walls through their outreach office, which provides counseling and case management to women and children who do not need the residential component. Genesis Women’s Shelter is able to complete the continuum of care with transitional housing programs, which provide families an affordable housing option that continues with counseling and support.
